Argo Plasma, new effective treatment for body sagging: firms, tightens, and defines
It is undeniable that body flaccidity is not easy to correct. There are patients who try exercise, diet, creams… without success. Nowadays, there are several effective medical treatments. At Cànons Clinics, we have incorporated Argo Plasma, one of the latest innovations with which we are observing very good results.
Argo Plasma for the treatment of body flaccidity
“What is it about and what results can we get”
What does Argo Plasma offer me as a patient?
If you have sagging in any part of your body, it is one of the most recent, effective, and long-lasting body treatments to firm up your skin, redefine your contours, and give you a smoother and younger appearance.
How does it work?
Well, it is an argon plasma electrosurgical device that, through a very controlled thermal action, causes the skin to retract. It acts selectively on collagen.
In other words, it produces a tightening effect that quickly and safely reduces skin laxity. To simplify… Imagine passing an intelligent iron that neither burns nor damages the fabric over a shirt with wrinkles.
That’s how it improves firmness.
It is a minimally invasive and outpatient technique performed with sedation. It can be associated or not with body surgeries like lipolaser.
Instructions: to whom it is recommended and to whom it is not
Argo Plasma is very versatile.
At Cànons Clinics, we use it for both men and women:
-
- Along with lipolaser to firm and enhance definition in the abdomen, waist, hips, legs, flanks… For example, to achieve more abdominal definition after removing localized fat with laser-assisted liposuction.
- Sometimes with lifting surgeries for greater rejuvenation, such as in a brachioplasty to make the arms firmer.
- To treat mild to moderate body sagging, without combining other interventions. For individuals with somewhat loose skin due to sudden weight loss, pregnancy, or aging, which resists healthy habits.
For this third case, we have several very effective treatments available. We recommend one or another depending on what we observe in the consultation during the diagnosis.
Contraindications? Generally, we do not advise Argo Plasma if:
-
- There are certain significant underlying pathologies;
- Unrealistic expectations (it is not a method for weight loss);
- If the primary surgery it accompanies is contraindicated.
Beyond that, it is a very safe technology.
2 very nice examples of before and after
Patient who made an appointment at Cànons Clinics to address the flaccidity of their arms.
After a precise assessment of their needs, we performed:
-
- Lipolaser to remove fat deposits.
- Brachioplasty to eliminate excess skin.
- Argo Plasma to achieve a smoother and more defined appearance.
- Laser Urgotouch® to reduce the appearance of the scar.
Look at this comparison pre and post at 4 weeks of treatment. The scar is recent and still a bit red, but you can already see much greater firmness and visible rejuvenation.
The following patient consulted regarding localized fat in the abdomen and flanks.
In this case, the procedure was more global:
-
- Nutritional dietary assessment and healthy habits one month prior.
- Lipolaser + Argo Plasma to reshape and define their body contour.
- Lymphatic drainage in the 1st month to reduce postoperative inflammation.
- Radiofrequency in the 2nd month to improve skin firmness and appearance.
- Selective muscle electrostimulation in the 3rd month to tone the abdomen.
Result after three months: much more defined silhouette, flat abdomen with no fat deposits or visible marks from the operation, and no sagging.
Is Argo Plasma better than other body treatments for sagging?
A patient asked me something that makes perfect sense.
With the number of treatments available for body laxity…
Why Argo Plasma?
It’s not really that it’s a better or worse option, but rather that depending on the case, it can be a much more appropriate and satisfactory indication—or not.
We can compare it mainly with 3 alternatives:
Specifically:
-
- Surgical procedures with skin resection (it is removed), like an abdominoplasty.
- Aesthetic medicine: radiofrequency, mesotherapy, thread lifting, etc.
- Helium plasma: very similar, but uses helium instead of argon.
Compared to surgical resection, Argo Plasma is a body treatment that offers excellent results for mild to moderate laxity and avoids such an invasive operation. Recovery is quicker, and there is less scarring.
Regarding aesthetic medicine, Argo Plasma often involves a surgical setting and requires a bit more postoperative care. However, it provides better results in just one session and requires less maintenance. The effect is more permanent.
As for helium plasma, Argo Plasma is easier to manage and has a lower risk of complications. Additionally, it is a technology with substantial research backing it. It has been successfully applied in various medical procedures for years.
That said:
-
- Do you prefer a long-lasting result or avoid surgery?
- Do you have localized fat deposits?
- What degree of skin sagging are you experiencing?
- What is your skin quality?
- What are your expectations?
Depending on your needs and desires, one technique will be better than another.
By the way, if you would like to firm and correct sagging skin on your face, here I share one of the latest treatments for facial sagging. A unique synergy with which our patients are leaving very satisfied.
360-degree approach to further reduce body sagging
I mentioned at the beginning that there are patients who try everything against body sagging and can’t find a way to fix it. No matter how much gym work or good nutrition they have, they never end up looking the way they want.
If this is your situation, you’ll know that it’s frustrating.
Argo Plasma is a very effective treatment to finally see an improvement in your silhouette, but that doesn’t mean that self-care isn’t important.
Sagging skin appears due to various factors, from natural aging to lifestyle, smoking, sun exposure, or pollution. Structural and compositional changes occur that cause the skin to lose firmness and sag.
What does this mean?
Well, it means that the best result is achieved with a 360 approach, addressing all those fronts that in some way cause skin laxity.
At Cànons Clinics, we have the concept of “Body Contour Unit.” We provide tools to each patient from weeks before to months after the procedure to help them regain and maintain greater firmness for a longer time.
In general, we follow this protocol:
-
- Pre-intervention and post-intervention nutritional counseling.
- Manual lymphatic drainage throughout the first month.
- Multipolar radiofrequency during the second.
- Muscle electrostimulation in the third.
In consultation, we determine what is most appropriate for each case.
