4 Effective Treatments for Facial Flaccidity Without Surgery: Know The Latest

Of all the changes that the skin undergoes over the years, loss of firmness and sagging is perhaps one of the most associated with facial aging. What treatments for facial flaccidity are effective and without surgery? Which ones are better? What’s the latest today?

Which treatment is better for facial flaccidity

How to treat sagging skin on the face

A brief review to understand how we deal with sagging face.

The skin is divided into 3 layers. Simplifying a lot:

    • Epidermis => protects, defense and waterproofing.
    • Dermis => provides support, elasticity and resistance.
    • Hypodermis => stores fat, cushioning and insulates from heat and cold.

The dermis is composed of a connective tissue rich in collagen, which gives firmness to the skin. It also has elastin, which gives flexibility, and glycosaminoglycans with hyaluronic acid, which hydrate and provide turgence in retaining a large amount of water.

What happens as we get older?

Well, because of natural aging, UV radiation, tobacco… These molecules are decreasing in quantity and quality. At the same time, tighten the greixosa layer of the hypodermis and there are changes at the level of the skin that affect the skin subjection.

As a consequence, the skin lost volume, firmness and hydration. It becomes flaccid, sags and forms folds that we associate with age.

So what are the most common treatments based on?

Mainly:

    • stimulate collagen and elastin synthesis.
    • to encourage the retraction of collagen fibers.
    • resting volumes and recovering cutaneous subjection.
    • Tightening and repositioning directly the tissues (surgical lifting).

In one way or another we seek to return the firm and youthful appearance to the face. In addition, by sliding the skin we smooth wrinkles and fine lines.

4 Facial Firming Treatments Without Surgery

Every day more patients ask the consultation for alternatives not invasive to correct the flaccidity of the face.

Nobody wants to come across as an orphan. If we can avoid it, why not do it?

Today we have facial aesthetic medicine treatments  that, although they involve maintenance, give very good results in mild to moderate cases and save the inconveniences of an operation (recovery, risks, scar, cost…).

There are 4 that are very safe and effective:

    • Fractional radiofrequency (RF). It is a technology that delivers energy in the form of heat to the dermis and hypodermis. It causes direct contraction of the collagen and stimulates the seva formation.
    • High-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU). It acts in a similar way to the RF, with this thermal effect, but it is utilizing ultrasonic energy.
    • Bio stimulation. From the patient’s blood, a plasma rich in belief factors that induce the proliferation of fibroblasts (cells that manufacture collagen and elastin) was obtained. It applies with microinjections.
    • PDO (polydioxanone) threads. They are resorbable tensor files that are introduced into the deep dermis. Generate with a cleaning effect and stimulate the production of new collages.

Is Cinchona more recommended?

Well, it depends a lot on the patient and expectations.

Ultrasound, for example, offers a more subtle result than tensor threads. Does this mean that they are worse? Not… It means that they will be more indicated for certain cases.

The one who works very well for one person may not do it for another, faces that yes that you are seeing that combining techniques is the one that allows better treatments for facial flaccidity.

Except for the distances, it’s like what happens when you want to lose weight. Exercise and diet alone help, but if you take care of both, the plan will be more effective (always adapting it).

Radiofrequency with microneedles and mesotherapy: one of the latest treatments for facial flaccidity

As in this context, the latest advances in aesthetic medicine are directed to the barrier of approaches to treat the flaccid skin in a very complete way.

At Cànons Clinics we create a unique synergy: energy (fractionated radiofrequency with microneedles) + product (mesotherapy). A new combination that we are taking to different medical congresses due to the interest it generates.

“Attack” the flaccidity from various points

What does this treatment consist of?

From a band, microporous to the skin with the microneedles to apply facial radiofrequency in a highly focused way to the dermis.

In other words, we generate a path for the energy to enter and act precisely where we want it to do so. In this way, we achieve better efficiency in collagen induction and avoid damage to the surrounding tissues.

A part of the system (EndyMed Intensive It works with its own movements, so that the microneedles do not cause trauma to the epidermis.

It is a very comfortable procedure for the patient.

On the other hand, we take advantage of this path created by infiltration of mesotherapy products also in the dermis. Specifically, BCN Tensis (Mesoceuticals®, de Institut BCN), a firming cocktail that complements the effect of radiofrequency.

Among the three ingredients, I counted:

    • Repairing peptides that increase the firmness, elasticity and facial hydration, also enhancing the aspect of wrinkles.
    • Hyaluronic acid in the form of a hyaluronate, as moisturizing but more stable. It gives turgor and sponginess.
    • Antioxidants that will reduce the destruction of collagen and elastin caused by UV radiation and oxidative stress (the famous liquid radicals).
    • Actions that stimulate the synthesis of collagen fibers to strengthen and tighten the skin of the face.

As you can see, we “attack” from multiple sides for a comprehensive treatment.

How many sessions are there and what results are achieved?

Look, for example, at this case.

Mild-moderate degree of facial flaccidity to the double chin area. Radiofrequency application with microneedles + mesotherapy to treat it.

In the image you can see a significant global enhancement between the before (left) and the after (right). The skin looks smoother and rejuvenated.

Our beautiful patient was very happy. The best of it: he is not going to pose a peu to the operating room.

It is usually 3-4 sessions with a month in between (adjust in each case). Then I always recommend doing the same thing throughout the following year, so that we recommend not only managing, but improving the result.

And I’m talking about facial treatment, but it works the same for bodily skin.

Other people opt for our nutritional coaching service and healthy habits to optimize the seva apparença. It is undeniable that food and lifestyle affect skin quality.
