Retix.C, new range of facial treatments: what is it and what is it for?

The world of aesthetic medicine is like one of those technological careers in which new proposals arrive year after year. One of the most recent is Retix.C, from Urgo laboratories, with which we are confirming very good results at Cànons Clinics. I’ll tell you what it is, what these treatments are about  and my medical opinion.

What is Retix.C and what is it for?

Let’s start with the basics.

Retix.C is one professional range of facial treatments with peeling effect based on retinol, vitamin C and antioxidants. We exfoliate the surface of the skin while providing the benefits of various active ingredients.

What’s special about it?

They are customizable medical-aesthetic protocols. They are adaptable to the needs of the patient. 2-3 successive steps that we do during the session in the clinic and that may include home care products.

Its objective is to achieve a biorevitalization Completes the skin for a healthier and more youthful appearance with fewer imperfections. It stimulates natural regeneration processes and achieves a comprehensive improvement in skin quality.

It is precisely this global action that makes Retix.C provide fantastic results.

They are synergistic combinations. This means that they incorporate concentrated active ingredients that have been shown to enhance each other, so they are more effective than if they were used separately. Like a team of people who help each other.

What applications does it have?

    • Corrects wrinkles, sagging, blemishes, acne lesions, enlarged pores, etc Using one protocol or another, multiple problems can be treated in all phototypes (it doesn’t matter your skin colour)
    • Complements other treatments or surgeries. Neuromodulators, hyaluronic acid, laser, blepharoplasty, lifting… Retix.C is used before, during or after to improve results and/or accelerate skin recovery.

The 4 flagships of the range are:

    • For face and neck: Retibooster y Smart DNA Therapy.
    • Eye contour: Eye+.
    • Medical peel: Revive TC3.

Let’s explain a little more about each of them.

Los 4 tratamientos estrella de Retix.C

Retibooster

One of the great protagonists of Retix.C.

Retibooster is a retinol therapy for a “newborn skin” effect. At Cànons Clinics we propose it, for example, to patients with mature skin before any aesthetic medical treatment (it also works for younger people).

Retinol is a very popular anti-aging active, although it generates a lot of confusion. It is basically a retinoid, a family of compounds made up of vitamin A and its derivatives (tretinoin, retinal with “al”, retinol itself, etc.).

Its effectiveness is more than proven:

    • Stimulates collagen synthesis at the cellular level, thereby smoothes, reduces wrinkles and improves firmness. Very useful for those people with facial sagging, fine lines and other signs of aging.
    • It has depigmenting properties and accelerates the epidermal renewal of the skin (peeling effect). That is why corrects spots, acne scars, blackheads and other imperfections.

Some Patients rightly ask me “So what?”

There are dozens of retinol treatments…

The key to Retibooster is that it is the only one, that I know of, that combines it with TGF-ß (beta), a growth factor that minimizes its irritative potential and maximizes its effectiveness. Thanks to this, it is a safe therapy for all skin types.

Another aspect is that it works as a booster serum. An activator with vitamin C (antioxidant, depigmentant and increases collagen), niacinamide (anti-inflammatory, also induces collagen), ferulic acid (antioxidant) and lactic acid (exfoliates and hydrates).

An equally anti-aging combination that illuminates, repairs, unifies tone and lightens redness. It’s impressive.

The complete protocol is:

      1. Booster serum.
      2. Pure Retinol 4% + TGF-ß 2%.
      3. Moisturizing cream ultra-restorative to calm possible later discomfort.

Recommendation is 3 sessions, one each month. Then maintenance according to needs.

Smart DNA Therapy

The other gem of Retix C.

Smart DNA Therapy is an antioxidant therapy that promotes skin regeneration damaged and treats signs of photoaging. The face gains luminosity, uniformity, firmness and freshness. He looks younger.

It is a good option in patients with rosacea, couperose or very reactive skin to external aggressors. At Cànons Clinics we also frequently use it, for example to improve laser treatments.

A brief explanation to understand how it works.

Factors like solar radiation, pollution or tobacco smoke can cause the formation of free radicals. Our skin already has antioxidant mechanisms, but day by day and over the years they can be overwhelmed.

This causes oxidative stress in cells, which has several consequences. Loss of firmness, wrinkles, redness, pigmentation, alteration of the skin barrier, increased sebum secretion…

What does Smart DNA Therapy contribute here?

The procedure is 2 steps:

      1. Chemical peel with ferulic acid (antioxidant), a peptide that promotes its penetration and TGF-ß. It prevents the skin from future signs of aging and, by exfoliating, facilitates the action of the active ingredients in the next step.
      2. Cocktail of antioxidants and repairing peptides reinforced with ferulic acid. They reverse oxidative stress and improve DNA repair systems. They thus reduce damage caused by UV radiation and other factors.

Recommendation is 3 sessions, one every 15 days. Then one every 2 months.

Eye+

Less known, but a marvel all the same.

Eye+ is Retix.C’s treatment for the eye area. Serves for rejuvenate the look and correct bags, dark circles, wrinkles and imperfections. Dryness, signs of photoaging, uneven color, lack of elasticity, crow’s feet, dull skin…

It combines a series of assets with which it achieves a fresher, rested and happier appearance. At Cànons Clinics we also use it in blepharoplasties to improve the final result of surgery. Patients leave very happy.

The protocol is 3 steps:

      1. Chemical peel with a blend of alpha hydroxy acids (exfoliants), ferulic acid and phloretin (antioxidants) and a gentler form of retinol. Together they induce skin renewal, illuminate, smooth and hydrate the eye contour.
      2. Booster serum. Type like that of Retibooster, with vitamin C, ferulic acid, lactic acid and niacinamide. A combo that stimulates collagen synthesis and provides antioxidant, depigmenting and anti-inflammatory effects.
      3. Eye mask. It contains another synergy of ingredients with intense regenerating and moisturizing action. It reduces dark circles and also promotes microcirculation, which helps to decongest bags.

What Eye+ can be applied so safely on the skin of the eyelids (a very delicate area), making it a very pioneering treatment in its market.

Recommendation is 3 sessions, one every 15 days. Then recommended 1 a month.

Revive TC3

This one is a little different, you’ll see…

Revive TC3 is a facial medical peel that improves skin texture, firmness, pigmentation and scars. As with the other Retix.C treatments, it is safe for all phototypes.

It is used, for example, to treat superficial wrinkles, acne lesions or loss of luminosity. Provides an immediate glow effect on the face.

What does the protocol consist of?

      1. Chemical exfoliation with 12% trichloroacetic acid to promote skin regeneration, reduce pores, unify and illuminate. It is combined with mandelic acid (also exfoliating) and kojic acid (depigmenting).
      2. Powder mask with 20% vitamin C. What I have already told you: it induces collagen, depigments and is an antioxidant. In this case it is activated in solution with ferulic acid and hyaluronic acid to improve results.

Recommendation is 3 sessions, one each month. Then every 3 months, depending on the patient.

How Retix.C is applied: a special system

This is a very innovative point of Retix.C.

Except Revive TC3, the rest of the range is applied by microneedle mesotherapy. This is a minimally invasive technique in which we create micropores in the skin to introduce the ingredients directly into the dermis.

Like tiny channels that give way to assets.

This allows for more effective and safer treatment. In addition, the microneedle system itself promotes regenerative effects, which further improves the results.

Retix.C has a specific device for this: R.PEN.

has 2 advantages:

    • More precision and customization. It has, let’s say, several “modes” to be able to adapt much better to the needs of each patient.
    • Includes LED phototherapy. There is increasing evidence of the benefits of LED light on the skin. The fun thing is that they change depending on the color. With R.PEN it can be adjusted to achieve specific effects on collagen, redness, etc.

Retix.C medical opinion

At the outset I would like to clarify the following.

At Cànons Clinics we are firm supporters of innovation focused on achieving more effective and safe treatments. That is why I am very demanding when it comes to incorporating new options into our clinic.

Retix.C of Urgo convinced me because it has a scientific basis. Retinol, vitamin C, antioxidants, microneedles… There is a lot of evidence behind it.

That gives us a guarantee for doctors and patients.

Another key in my opinion is that it allows a 360° approach to facial aesthetics. The 4 therapies have a peeling effect, stimulate collagen and provide different active ingredients to achieve a global improvement in the appearance and quality of the skin.

The effectiveness we are seeing is superior to other traditional alternatives. To the point that sometimes avoids more invasive interventions, giving fabulous results without having to stop your normal routine.

They are very versatile protocols from which almost any aesthetic medicine and surgery patient can benefit. In addition, they can be used before, during or after other procedures to enhance them.

In short, very satisfying.
