An illusion, a future come true: Cànons Clinics turns 20 years old
We live strange times in plastic and aesthetic surgery.
While technological advances bring us increasingly effective treatments, trivialization and economic concepts are the order of the day. A sector that we do not forget is about medicine.Not everything should be considered as long as it is billed.
In this context,2024, at Cànons Clinics we are proud to celebrate 20 years of history in which professionalism, innovation and ethics have marked our path.
At first we weren’t even called Cànons Clinics
I’m sure you know the feeling.
Something is on your mind. An idea that excites you, a life project that would make you very happy.This is how they were in 2004, Dr. Víctor Hernàndez Machado and Sílvia Llorens. They were part of the team at the public hospital in Mallorca and had been thinking about it for some time…
“Our own surgery and aesthetic medicine clinic. You imagine?”.
In that same year 2004 they decided that the time had come. They grab their suitcases, go to Granollers and co-found Clinica Médico Estetica Pinós.
The project of their lives.
Around 2007 they opened a second clinic in Barcelona to be close to the many patients who came from there. This is when the name Cànons Clinics emerged.
We were one of the first clinics to introduce laser-assisted liposuction in Spain. More than 500 patients have already been treated with us.
The big step: there are people who are still surprised
In 2017 we made a change of location in Barcelona that marked a before and after in our history.
You might think that, hey, it’s not that big of a deal. One transfer and that’s it.
But yes, it was. Because we went from a small clinic to a large one where we were able to launch what had always been on our mind, the icing on the cake:being able to operate in their own operating rooms.
And what does this mean?
Well, the essence of Cànons Clinics has always been 360º comprehensive care. This allowed us to go one step further. Being able to do consultations, treatments, follow-up and now also surgeries, all in our facilities.
To this day, many patients are still surprised. They even show some disbelief upon learning that their surgery will be here, at the clinic. When we go into detail and show our operating rooms, doubts are dispelled.
And they appreciate it.
Because somehow this creates a very cozy feeling. The process becomes more bearable and comfortable. Sometimes the environment of a hospital can be cold and there are people who get nervous as they walk through the door.
That doesn’t happen to you at Cànons Clinics. At the same time that you have the maximum security guarantees,you feel at home.
The Department of Health of the Generalitat de Catalunya does not allow anyone to operate in its facilities. You must show that you comply with all safety requirements so that they give you sanitary authorization. Without exceptions.
We have never left a patient aside
20 years is said quickly, but there are some years.
There are 20 years of daily demands to provide the best care. To demonstrate that plastic and aesthetic surgery is also medicine. Health. And among an increasingly fierce competition that values quantities over quality of care.
From the beginning we have always preferred to treat less, but better.
There have been 20 years of learning in which, yes, there have been mistakes. It cannot be denied that we are human beings. Nor have we ever abandoned anyone.
In fact, sometimes patients we operated on for more than 15 years return. Parents who come with their children because they found Cànons Clinics a place of trust.
It is what impacts us the most today.
Thank you very much to all of you for choosing us. For your love, patience and understanding. There is no greater gratification than seeing that effort always ends in reward.
We can only have words of gratitude.
Something that “obsesses” us
Like any doctor, a plastic and aesthetic surgeon must always be up to date with the latest treatments and technologies in the sector.
And that’s something that in Clinical Canons has always been crucial.
We not only do continuous training (conferences, presentations, courses…) and we belong to scientific societies that allow us to be updated. Besides, we carry out clinical trials to literally offer the newest techniques.
In addition, we have been strengthening ties with the most cutting-edge companies and laboratories to achieve common goals: more beautiful, natural and safe results.

This year 2024 we are very excited :We have completed our study on Joli360 for mild & moderate acne. We will soon share the results (very promising).
There is another way to do things
We said it at the beginning: the trivialization of the sector is the order of the day.
At Cànons Clinics we are convinced that we can grow sustainably with principles based on ethics, sincerity and honesty. Professionalism above all. We are doctors, not salespeople.
